2. RESTRICTED ITEMS
In general, none of the following types of items can be sent with Chronopost:
- Any goods covered by national and/or international regulations on dangerous products, including but not limited to: ammunition; gases; and flammable, radioactive, toxic, infectious, or corrosive materials. In addition, all objects which, by their nature or packaging, may present a danger to driving or handling personnel, the environment, or the safety of transport equipment, or may cause damage to other packages, vehicles, or third parties
- Jewellery, watches, precious stones and metals, currency, banknotes, financial or transferable values, methods of payment, debt securities or equity securities, gift vouchers, telephone cards or equivalents, as well as any paper document or other medium that enables payment and/or is subject to the laws governing the transport of funds
- Animals or living or dead creatures, plants, temperature-controlled goods, or perishable foodstuffs, as well as any product subject to excise duty under suspension of rights
The sender is responsible for informing Chronopost of the nature of the goods inside their packages when this may have an impact on goods transportation.
In cases where the sender entrusts Chronopost with objects or documents subject to the above restrictions, they will travel at the sender’s own risk and Chronopost will not be liable. The sender will therefore bear any consequences related to non-compliance with these restrictions and will be held responsible for any damage caused to third parties and/or to Chronopost.
In case of a violation of the above stipulations, the sender authorises Chronopost to dispose of the package in the manner it deems appropriate, including abandoning their delivery, and will compensate Chronopost for any and all consequences resulting from this violation.
If the sender entrusts Chronopost with goods that are subject to pay duty, without prejudice to the above restrictions, then they undertake to comply with regulatory constraints, particularly with regards to traceability, so that it is possible to certify, where applicable, that they are properly managing these duties, so that Chronopost is not required to take action or intervene in any way.
3. SENDER'S OBLIGATIONS
- Mandatory information: The sender is responsible for the information contained in the shipping label created on the Vinted.fr website, particularly the information relating to the name, postal address of the receiving pick-up point, and telephone number and/or email address, all of which must be precise, accurate, and complete in order to enable delivery.
- Contents: The sender is responsible for any damage that may be caused to third parties and/or Chronopost by a package subject to the above restrictions and for any consequences related to non-compliance with these restrictions.
- Packaging: The packages must be prepared and conditioned by the sender in a secure room. They must be fully contained within closed, protective wrapping that is suitable for the contents and transport requirements, including handling during transport. Failing this, the package travels at the sole risk of the sender.
The sender is responsible for delivering their parcel/s to Chronopost after firmly and correctly attaching the shipping label/s.
The shipping label/s must be affixed to the package on a flat surface and the barcode must be well-printed and clearly visible.
4. INSPECTION RIGHTS
In the context of customs or security checks, the sender accepts that Chronopost, in its capacity as a regulated agent of government authorities including customs, is entitled to open and inspect the packages in its custody at any time without affecting the fact that the sender remains solely responsible for the accuracy of their declaration/s. In addition, the sender should be aware that all packages loaded onto aircraft are subject to security checks, which may include the use of X-rays.
